Coppa Della Perugina

The Coppa della Perugina is a regularity race/tour of Umbria taking in cities, art, ancient villages, tradition, and excellent food and wine and has been held in one form or another since 1924.

It was the very first speed race ever held in Umbria, organise by Auto-Moto-Club of Perugia so as to allow the locals to experience the strong emotions linked to car racing.

Even Tazio Nuvolari entered in 1927 with a light blue Bugatti he had just purchased. So..if it was good enough for Tazio then we thought…let’s give it a go.

The rules at the time (we will come back to that) were for classic cars built before 1968. So we bought a 1967 Fiat 124 Coupe and drove from Milan to Perugia.

Having registered and gone through scrutineering we were ready to roll.
